Blog Like an Expert in 31 Days
When I started blogging I didn’t have a clue on what is a good blog and how to make my blog better. I fumbled for 4 years with my gaming blog, never seeing much success. At the end of May 2009, I started this blog. I moved the old blog to this domain and started blogging for real.
At the beginning, I didn’t really know what I was doing, I was reading a lot blogs, tons of how-to’s and tried to learn as much as I could. I did learn a lot, but I was having hard time deciding what I actually should do with the limited time I had. There were so many good tips that I got paralyzed. I faced an information overflow.
After working a while with the new blog, I saw that Darren Rowse of Problogger.net released an eBook called 31 Days to Build a Better Blog (31DBBB). I bought it the day it was released and started doing what the book told me. The clear structure of the book not only showed how to do things, but why and when too.

HTML for Bloggers: What Every Blogger Needs To Know about HTML

HTML for bloggers is an interesting topic, as you can effectively blog, even if you don’t know anything about HTML. With modern blogging platforms, like WordPress, we can blog without knowing anything about HTML, let alone coding with HTML.
Normal web user doesn’t have to know anything about HTML, but for a blogger, knowing certain key aspects has a lot of benefits. Don’t worry, this isn’t hard. You don’t need to learn how to code HTML. I will show you what are the most important HTML-tags and why it is important that you understand the basics.
Review of the Beginner’s Guide to Twitter
This is a review of Beginner’s Guide to Twitter -eBook by Mike Cliffe-Jones (known as MikeCJ). I first got connected to Mike through his blog and a coaching course we both took. However, I’ve gotten to know Mike better through Twitter, which goes on to show that Mike knows how to Twitter should be used and because of that, Mike is one of the “tweeps” whose tweets I pay close attention to.
I’ve written my share of social media posts and articles lately, but I’ve concentrated on more detailed guides than an introductions to these tools, so I was happy when Mike offered me the opportunity to see what his guide is all about…
How To Connect Your Social Media Profiles

There are hundreds of social media sites out there. There is no way you can be active member and contributor in all of them, so you will have to choose the ones you focus on. However, there are ways to automate certain tasks, making things easier for yourself AND help all your social media followers at the same time.
For example, it is very likely that you want to share the new blog post you just published, your new YouTube video, etc. In addition to my own content, I also want to share the best blog posts, articles and videos I’ve read or watched.
As I want to send these to Twitter anyway, I should make that process as easy for myself as possible, right? I’m thinking automation! And in the end, it’s quite easy too! So if you want to send the “standard” updates automatically too, this the post is for you!

Why Blog Commenting Is So Important?
What’s the greatest thing about blogs? I’d have to say blog comments. Leaving comments on other people’s blogs is what makes blogging so special. It’s a great way to get to know other bloggers, readers and best of all, it’s fun!
If you’re a blogger, you should be leaving comments on other blogs, for all the benefits you get from it. And even if you don’t have your own blog, blog commenting is a great way to get more information on the subject you’re interested and reading about.
By leaving blog comments, you have a chance to
- say what you think about the subject of the post
- get into discussion with the other readers AND the author
- give and receive additional information on the topic
Think if you could have a conversation with the author of the book you are just reading when a question pops up your mind when reading. Well, if you’re reading a blog, you can just ask that question and get it answered! Maybe you disagree with the author? Or have a different point of view on the subject. Perfect! Just remember that disagreeing or debating doesn’t mean you have to be a jerk about it.
In addition to being a way for the author and readers to interact, if you’re smart, blog commenting is also a great addition in your arsenal of (blog) marketing tools...

Advanced Blog Commenting Tricks
As I wrote in the previous post, blog commenting is very effective tactic to build your personal brand, get some back links and drive traffic back to your blog while at it.
Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere 2009 study showed, bloggers use approximately 3 hours a week commenting on blogs, which is quite substantial. As you are blog commenting “anyway”, it is worth it to make the most out of those 3 hours, right? Or if you like, use the strategies to spend less time on commenting and achieve the same or better results.
With this article, you’ll be able to take your blog commenting to the next level and make the most out of your blog comments. I’ll show you a blog commenting strategy, techniques you can use and a couple of services you can utilize to leverage your blog comments even further.
